INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURES | a) The teacher asks the students to read the exercise that was given last Friday. They are asked to read this quietly for about 5 minutes. b) At the end of this time, the teacher calls each student to write a simple sentences containing words up to 6 words on the blackboard. The teacher reminds them to use ‘is’ or ‘are’ in their sentences. Each student is encouraged to create their own sentences without rewriting the teacher’s sentences from their exercise books. c) Once every student has tried, the teacher checks each sentence and does any correction. She comments on each sentence and thanks them for giving it a try. d) Before the class ends, she reminds them to bring their Grammar exercise books for the coming Thursday class. |
REFLECTION | This lesson was completed. The objective was achieved but only for 24 out of 26 students. This is because 2 students have problem in writing meaningful sentence. They cannot make sense of nouns, verbs and objects in order to write a sentence. The teacher did not ask them because they did not register any comprehension of the lesson in the class. |

AKTIVITI | a) Guru menjelaskan bahawa pelajar akan ditaksir B4D3E2. Maka guru mengarahkan pelajar untuk membaca nota mengenai tajuk yang berkaitan sebelum guru mentaksir mereka. Pelajar diberikan masa selama 10 minit untuk membaca dengan senyap. b) Kemudian, guru mengedarkan soalan dan menjelaskan arahan. Pelajar diberikan masa selama 25 minit untuk menjawab. c) Pada akhir masa, guru mengutip kertas jawapan pelajar. d) Sebelum bersurai, guru mengingatkan pelajar untuk bersedia ditaksir band 4 yang terakhir untuk bab 10 pada hari Khamis. |
REFLEKSI | Semua 31 pelajar menguasai band ini. Hanya 2 orang pelajar tidak hadir. Maka guru akan mentaksir mereka pada hari Khamis. |

INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURES | a) The teacher starts the lesson by asking the students to take out their exercise books. She then pastes a large picture on the board and asks the students to describe the picture. b) Then the teacher divides the group into 5 groups where each group will have 5 to 6 students. c) Each group is to write as many simple sentences using ‘is’ and ‘are’ in their group. They are given 10 minutes to do this. d) At the end of the time, the teacher calls one representative from each group to write their answers on the board. e) The teacher checks the sentences and comments if there are any errors. f) The group with the highest number of correct sentences is given some prizes in order to appreciate their work. g) Before the lesson ends, the teacher reminds the students to bring their exercise books again on Friday. |
REFLECTION | This lesson will be postponed to Friday. The reason is the teacher had to attend a PIBG meeting from 2.00 – 3.15pm at Meeting Room 4. |

INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURES | a) The teacher continues to assess students’ ability to construct simple sentences that have 6 words. b) She distributes worksheets that show pictures of people doing activities. She gives them 10 minutes to writes as many sentences using ‘is’ and ‘are’ about the picture. c) At the end of the time, she calls each student in the class to write his or her sentences on the board. d) Once every student has tried, the teacher checks for any errors and comments on their mistakes. e) Before the class ends, the teacher asks the students to list down some of the words to begin a sentence. The students are expected to say that they can use words such as This, These, He, She, We and They. |
REFLECTION | Only 8 students volunteered to write their sentences on the board. Everyone was meant to have a try but since the teacher took some time to manage the class in terms of getting the students settled down after going out to get their chairs and tables, she only managed to check 8 sentences. There was only 1 error. This means the students could construct simple sentences using ‘is’ and ‘are’. However, more exercises are needed so that they will be able to write longer sentences confidently. |
