a) menjelaskan 3 kebaikan mengekalkan tradisi kekeluargaan
b) menyenaraikan perayaan-perayaan tradisi lain yang dapat mengeratkan perhubungan antara anggota keluarga dan sanak saudara
HASIL P&P
Pelajar dapat menyenaraikan tradisi keluarga dari segi perayaan yang disambut dan kebaikan mengamalkan tradisi keluarga masing-masing
PENERAPAN NILAI
Nilai mengekalkan tradisi kekeluargaan
AKTIVITI
a) Guru memulakan pengajaran dengan meminta pelajar untuk melihat gambar yang menunjukkan perkahwinan kaum Kadazan di Sabah. Pelajar diminta mendengar guru membacakan langkah yang diikuti sebelum seseorang berkahwin.
b) Kemudian, guru meminta pelajar untuk berkongsi mengenai proses yang diikuti sebelum berkahwin dalam masyarakat mereka.
c) Guru menerangkan bahawa apa yang diamalkan oleh masyarakat masing-masing adalah berkaitan dengan nilai mengekalkan tradisi kekeluargaan. Guru membacakan definisi nilai.
d) Selepas itu, guru menyuruh pelajar untuk melihat gambar-gambar yang menunjukkan perayaan Gawai dan Pesta Keamatan. Guru meminta pelajar memberikan tujuan perayaan diadakan, 3 kebaikan jika ia disambut dan 2 perayaan lain yang disambut dalam masyarakat masing-masing. Guru mendengar respon pelajar.
e) Kemudian, guru memberikan nota mengenai nilai ini dan disalin oleh pelajar.
f) Sebelum kelas ditamatkan, guru meminta pelajar untuk memberikan maksud nilai mengekalkan tradisi kekeluargaan sekali lagi.
REFLEKSI
Pelajar hanya boleh memberikan 1 daripada 3 jawapan untuk kebaikan mengamalkan tradisi kekeluargaan. Tetapi mereka boleh menyenaraikan banyak perayaan yang boleh mengeratkan hubbungan kekelurgaan. Guru perlu memberi soalan kefahaman kepada pelajar.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
a) construct 3 sentences for each paragraph in the body of the essay
b) write 6 paragraphs for the essay
c) construct sentences that use simple past tense

INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURES
a) Teacher distributes the English test papers to the students. She reads out the answers for Paper 1. But for Paper 2, the teacher decides to revise the question on Guided writing which is on writing a recount.
b) The teacher gets the students identify the suitable tense, the layout for the essay and the number of sentences for each paragraph.
c) The teacher demonstrates how the introduction and the second paragraphs are written based on the pictures. She shows how the sentences are written.
d) Then, the teacher gets the students to volunteer by saying out their sentences for each paragraph. The teacher writes their sentences on the board and if there are errors, the teacher corrects straight away on the board.
e) The students are asked to copy this sample essay into their books.
f) Before the lesson ends, the teacher reminds them to bring their Literature books on Wednesday.
REFLECTION
The students still made mistakes when it comes to using the word “while” as this sentence needs them to also use gerunds, which are words that end with ‘ing’. The students get confused. So the teacher will need to teach them how to write this kind of sentence in future lessons.

a) Guru mengarahkan pelajar untuk mengeluarkan buku latihan kerana guru akan memberikan nota untuk bab 5.
b) Setelah siap menyalin nota, guru mengajar pelajar bagaimana hendak mentafsir peta berpandukan peta yang diberikan dalam buku teks Geografi.
c) Sebelum kelas ditamatkan, guru menyoal pelajar sekali lagi mengenai simbol-simbol yang boleh dikategorikan sebagai ciri fizikal dan ciri budaya.
REFLEKSI
Guru mendapati bahawa pelajar boleh mentafsir peta dengan baik kerana pelajar boleh menjawab 5 daripada 6 soalan yang ditanya di dalam kelas. Pelajar juga boleh menjawab dengan betul semua soalan yang berkaitan dengan ciri fizikal dan ciri budaya.

a) Sebelum memulakan PBS untuk nilai-nilai Kepercayaan kepada Tuhan dan Amanah, guru terlebih dahulu menjelaskan semula maksud dua nilai ini. Guru memberikan kata kunci untuk setiap nilai.
b) Kemudian, guru mengedar lembaran PBS yang mengandungi soalan-soaaln untuk dijawab oleh pelajar. Guru memberikan masa untuk pelajar menjawab setiap band.
c) Apabila telah siap, guru mengutip kertas jawapan pelajar.
d) Sebelum kelas ditamatkan, guru mengingatkan pelajar untuk bersedia menjawab soalan PBS untuk nilai amanah yang belum lagi siap dan juga untuk nilai harga diri pada hari Isnin pada minggu hadapan.
REFLEKSI
Guru mendapati bahawa semua pelajar dapat menguasai band 1 hingga 4 untuk kedua-dua nilai ini.

The sample essay is completed. The students’ main problem is their inability to differentiate between the usage of simple past tense and past continuous tense.

c) write an example which is the evidence from the novel which will begin with the phrase “For example” main idea which will begin with words such as “Thus”, “So”, “Therefore” and “Hence”
d) identify 3 main reasons why the novel is interesting

INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURES
a) The students are asked to recall what they have read in Chapters 1 and 2 of the novel before the discussion on the test paper can be done. The students are expected to talk about the introduction of the main character, Phileas Fogg and his unique personality as well as his hiring of a new butler, Jean Passepartout in Chapter 1. They are also expected to say that Phileas waged half of his fortune in order to prove that a person can travel around the world in 80 days in Chapter 2.
b) Then the teacher asks them to identify 3 main ideas that make this novel interesting based on the two chapters. The students are to say that Phileas has a unique personality, that there is a wager and that they travel very light for a very long journey.
c) Once this is done, the teacher illustrates on the board the layout of the essay. It will be written in 5 paragraphs. The introduction and the conclusion will only have 1 sentence. The other 3 paragraphs will contain the main idea, their elaboration, the evidence from the novel and a mini conclusion. The teacher also gives words or phrases that should be used to signal a main idea, an elaboration, an example and the mini conclusion.
d) The students are asked to look for the evidence from the novel when the teacher asks them to find a suitable example for each main idea.
e) Once this essay is done, the teacher tells them to copy this sample essay into their exercise books.
f) Before the class ends, the teacher reminds the students to bring their novel to the class for Thursday’s literature lesson.
REFLECTION
The sample essay could not be finished. The teacher will have to continue this lesson on Thursday. The students are introduced to this layout for writing an essay on a novel for the first time. Hence, there are still many questions on how to look for suitable main ideas, elaboration and example. The teacher will get ready more exercises for the students to do.

a) Guru menerangkan arahan untuk soalan-soalan PBS yang akan diberikan kepada pelajar terlebih dahulu. Apabila pelajar telah bersedia, guru mengedarkan lembaran soalan-soalan untuk band 1 dan band 4. Pelajar diberikan masa untuk menjawab.
b) Apabila mereka selesai menjawab, guru mengutip kertas jawapan pelajar.
c) Setelah itu, guru beredar ke bab 6 iaitu bentuk muka bumi dan potensinya. Guru meminta pelajar melihat peta yang menunjukkan bentuk muka bumi tanah tinggi di Malaysia. Guru menyoal pelajar mengenai banjaran-banjaran yang terdapat di Semenanjung Malaysia, Sabah dan Sarawak.
d) Kemudian, guru membacakan teks yang menerangkan mengenai banjaran-banjaran dan gunung-gunung tertinggi di Semenanjung Malaysia, Sabah dan Sarawak.
e) Guru menyoal pelajar untuk menamakan kawasan-kawasan yang telah dibacakan oleh guru.
f) Guru memberikan nota untuk disalin oleh pelajar.
g) Sebelum kelas tamat, guru menyoal pelajar sekali lagi mengenai nota yang telah disalin dan mengingatkan pelajar untuk bersedia menjawab soalan PBS mengenai topik ini pada hari Isnin minggu hadapan.
REFLEKSI
Pelajar didapati menguasai band 1 dan band 4 untuk bab ini. Pelajar juga didapati dapat menjawab 5 daripada 6 soalan mengenai bab 6 yang ditanya pada akhir P&P dengan tepat.

b) So, the teacher asks the students to begin each topic sentence, elaboration, the example and the mini conclusion for the third main idea. She tells them to refer to the sample essay that they copied on Wednesday.
c) If they have some difficulties doing this task, the teacher will illustrate on the board by giving them clues such as telling them to answer the Why question in order to write the elaboration and to look at certain pages in order to find the evidence to support this elaboration.
d) The teacher also illustrates how a conclusion is written.
e) The students copy the rest of the essay in their exercise books.
f) Before the lesson ends, the teacher reminds the students to bring their novels on Wednesday next week.
REFLECTION
The sample essay is completed in the class. The students still need more practice on writing an essay for this novel.
