Revision of English Paper 1 and Paper 2 (summary writing)
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the end of this lesson, students should be able to:
a) check their Papers 1 again in order to ensure the teacher has done any mistakes in her marking
b) identify 5 main ideas for summary writing question
c) write a 60-word summary using the identified main ideas

INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURES
a) The teacher returns students’ test papers. She reads out the answers for Paper 1 while the students check their corrected objective papers.
b) If there are any errors in her marking, the teacher will do the correction on the student’s paper. If there are no errors, the teacher will continue the revision on summary writing. The teacher proceeds to read the text and briefly explains its meaning.
c) Then, she asks the students to identify 5 main ideas based on the text and the teacher’s explanation. The teacher writes the correct answers on the board.
d) Next, she draws a 10x6 grid on the board and fills it with the 5 main ideas together with the 10 given words in the question. She gets the students to copy this sample answer into their exercise books.
e) Before the class ends, the teacher asks the students to bring their writing exercise books on Friday.
REFLECTION
The teacher did not enter this class as she has to attend an course on OPS-English for Form 1 English teachers at PKG, Serian from 1.30 – 5.00 pm.

a) menyemak kertas mereka semula untuk memastikan guru tidak membuat sebarang kesilapan dalam penandaan kertas
b) mengingati semula fakta yang telah dipelajari dari bab 1 sehingga bab 16
PENERAPAN NILAI
Mengambil bahagian dalam perbincangan selepas ujian akhir tahun
AKTIVITI
a) Guru mengembalikan kertas ujian para pelajar. Guru membacakan jawapan yang betul sementara pelajar menyemak kertas masing-masing agar tidak terdapat sebarang kesilapan dalam penandaan.
b) Kemudian, guru menerangkan semula bagaimana hendak mendapatkan jawapan yang betul untuk setiap soalan objektif tersebut iaitu mengulangkaji setiap soalan. Pelajar diminta mendengar dan menjawab apabila disoal oleh guru.
c) Sebelum kelas selesai, guru mengingatkan pelajar untuk menghantar semuula kertas jawapan yang mempunyai sebarang kesilapan dalam penandaan. Kertas itu akan dikembalikan semula oleh guru pada hari Isnin minggu hadapan.
REFLEKSI
Guru tidak masuk ke kelas ini kerana menghadiri kursus OPS – English untuk guru-guru Bahasa Inggeris tingkatan 1 2014 dari 1.30 petang sehingga 5.00 petang.

Revision of English Paper 2 (guided writing)
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the end of this lesson, students should be able to:
a) use simple past tense in writing this essay
b) write 6 paragraphs using the pictures provided in the question
c) write at least 3 sentences for each content paragraph
LEARNING EMPHASIS

INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURES
a) The teacher begins the revision on the guided writing question in Paper 2 by asking the students to identify the number of pictures given. The students are expected to say that they are to write 6 paragraphs as there are 6 pictures in the question.
b) Then, the teacher tells the students to study each picture and to tell her what each picture means. She listens as the students respond.
c) Next, she shows how to write the introduction for the essay by getting some students to give some ideas to help her.
d) Once the introduction is done, she moves on to the second paragraph by explaining what the notes under each picture mean. She uses these notes to construct at least 3 sentences for the content paragraph. She does this by asking the students to contribute some ideas to the writing of the sentences.
e) The teacher uses this technique to construct the third, fourth and fifth paragraphs. The students are asked to contribute sentences when the teacher asks them.
f) Finally, the teacher gives the conclusion for this essay. Once completed, the teacher tells the students to copy this sample essay into their exercise books.
g) Before the class ends, the teacher reminds the students to bring their Literature exercise books on Monday for a revision on the literature component in Paper 2.
